The feeling of uneasiness continues. It felt like the ex that went around badmouthing you which you have no control over. I thought we ended amicably…
Last year, I did a bit of sharing about ex bosses (Good Boss Bad Boss Series 1,2,3). What if the tables are turned and bosses start bitching about us? They sure do because they are only human.
This is obviously not an exhaustive list and can be used to describe your teammates too.
- The one with attitude problem.
- The one that never get things done and needs micromanaging.
- The one that always takes MC dunno legit or not one.
- The act smart but always do wrong one.
- The slow one. Explain so many times cannot get it.
- The dunno busy with what one. Can do now but need to wait till the 23rd hour then start doing one.
- The empty vessel. Interview very good but can’t do shit.
- The after probation pattern come out one.
- The quiet and get things done but nobody knows much about them.
- The always hungry one and can always find them at the pantry.
- The which pregnancy is this person.
- The one with sick parents.
- The one whose kids always fall sick one.
- The SC or SPR man that needs to do reservists.

- Never make noise so can give minimal increment, bonus and bypass for promotion one.
If you report to someone that makes such comments about your colleagues… Congratulations! Either your boss like you very much or your boss is bitching about you with someone else too.
You are that one. That one without a name. Just a label in their eyes. I was that one that did not declare I have family planning during interview. When asked, I mentioned I didn’t have kids and said as it comes. This was after two failed IVF attempts. Trying for a child is not the same as opening your legs and be blessed the next day. I’m not as fertile as you.
Being in HR, the boss should know these are unfair interview questions. I did not report to TAFEP because I wanted that job. It should have been a red flag and glimpse of how bad it would be like working with such people.
You wanted me to declare so you can be unconsciously bias on my capabilities?
Declare so that I will be committed to make a baby and be exhausted in the morning so you will not give me too much work?
As if it is so easy to get pregnant! I put IVF on hold for goodness sake and only decided to leave and continue family planning after working for you because I believed I will have a miscarriage if I got pregnant and continued that job.
Good bosses or people managers should be putting a stop to toxic behaviour and working on appraisals, pay raise or justifying on keeping you employed (especially during Covid period) and not gossiping about their staff because THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR!
People often complain about millenials and also millenial bosses. You know what are the worst type of bosses? Baby Boomers. We have a message for you.
When you gossip about others, it will come back to you. You obviously know this but refused to change because you know better than everyone right? After all you are already halfway into the coffin, what can the king of hell, god or anyone do to you. The time will come when you run out of luck and you should really believe in karma.
Just because someone refused to participate in talking about others does not make them a bad team player. People refused to share because they may be uncomfortable with you. Colleagues are not your friends.
Can’t you practice mental social distancing and just mind your own business like spending time with your family or go mediate? People like me like to keep work and personal life separate because is tiring af to deal with people like you.
