Housing in SG Part 02: Leftovers

Follow up from part 1.

01 May: Check HDB website to see if it application is open. Repeat. Everyday.

23 May: Hello HDB, when will the sale start? It’s going to be June. Received automated reply instead.

24 May: It’s open! Hurry!

Paid $10 and submitted BTO application.

Oh wait, I actually don’t want to wait that long.

Cancelled application.

Pay another $10. Submit application for balance units (leftovers).

This was how I wanted $10 for having fast fingers.

Did I mention these subsidised apartments cost more then $600K for 93sqm now? Ridiculous.

This is another justification why I should go back to work.

What we did after sending the application is premature because we do should only this after we are invited to select a unit.

So, In the middle of the night I had a compass on my right hand, laptop on my left and a list of leftover units on hubby’s hand, we visited the actual blocks and surrounding to check out the fengshui. We can’t afford a $600k mistake of having bad fengshui.

The reason why the unit opposite is leftover is probably the 4 in its address and the main door faces public staircase. Strike out!

30 June: Your application is unsuccessful.

We did not even managed to get leftovers and we stressed ourselves over nothing. Better luck next time provided we are still eligible.
