“Hey, they ask you to change background,” someone pinged me during a meeting.
I was using my MacBook and couldn’t find any virtual background button hence I ignored the request.
Come a week later knowing that I can’t change my background, I logged in with my iPad. Still no add background button and I ignored the same person’s request again.
Virtual background is supported on my iPhone XR but it is too small to share slides. Sometimes the big boss wanna share nice quotes at the last minute and I gave the excuse that I’m having technical difficulties. Which was kind of true.
Finally, I decided not to bing watch Netflix series and mindless scrolling on Facebook, I watched YouTube videos on navigating Zoom.
Turns out both my iPad and MacBook are very old versions and they don’t support virtual background. I’ve been worrying for nothing. I took my anti depressants the past three nights for nothing!
If only I had taken the initiative to watch YouTube videos to find the answers. I realised I have gotten so lazy that I scared the shit out of myself.
Just recently, I was told there will be a clash of a meeting and training on ZOOM and I had to scramble last minute to look for another account to host a meeting. Why does the system allow you to create meetings at the same time they cannot run at the same time?!
For someone that left a Tech giant barely half a year ago and was part of Learning Management System overhaul and implemented Oracle and SAP for two of my previous employers, I don’t know why I scared of using ZOOM.
