Resolution 2022 — Read a book every month, June 2022.

Loosely translated to, “There is no wasted journey, every step counts,” by Liu Xin Wei
This is one of the books I bought together in a bundle with the book in April. An easier read.
Words that popped:
Chapter 2: 只有懒惰才会使人们精神沮丧、万念俱焚:劳动,也只有劳动才能创造生活,给人们幸福快乐。When you work, you use up your energy. It might make you tired but it will not be like laziness which will make you lonely and depressed.
A busy person has no time to think of rubbish like me right now. Why this why that why bad things always happen to me? Then again, someone with too much on their plate may get depressed when they felt like nothing gets done like how I got my post natal. Too much of one thing is not good. Always a balance. The challenge is striking a balance itself.
Chapter 3: Appreciating others. Your kind words and actions make a difference to how you see people and vice versa. Showing appreciation is a valuable skill.
On being kind to others, have nice words so you are more approachable. I agree in being kind and having nice words and don’t insult or make snide comments if I can control. I don’t want to be approachable because people tend to ask me to do things for them and I don’t like it. Lend money, listening ear and help their so and so look for jobs. No thank you! I’ll gladly put my bitch face on and please stay away from me.
Chapter 4: Changing the way you think is wisdom. A guy name Mike went to look for a job because he could not stand his manager and ended up working with a recruiter to help his annoying manager look for a job. The manager ended up accepting the new job offer and Mike took over the latter’s position. Mike got to stay in the job he likes and got more money as a result.
Let’s clap for Mike. I should consider this if I have annoying seniors, managers or colleagues in future. Thankfully I like my full time job and my current colleagues are all mature adults who could not care less on minute stuff. My senior is annoying nice as she has nice words for everyone and everything in every situation.
Chapter 5: On the topic of dealing with villains (小人). There are reasons why we should maintain a distance and not engage. Even if we triumph once, they will come back and create havoc again. The more you are afraid of certain things, the more they create it for you. Don’t offend them. Be strict and reject their unreasonable requests upfront and don’t leave things hanging with them.
Chapter 6: Handling your emotions. Nobody get successful being angry. People get blinded by their emotions that they are too busy to do anything else. Manage your anger, relax, be calm and sort out your thoughts.
Sometimes people lashed at you at no fault of yours. It is how you react that counts.
Also, learn to let go of your own mistakes. Make it a point to reflect and don’t do it again. Don’t create unnecessary stress for yourself. A person is unable to function properly if they have an unhealthy mind.
人生路,莫问前程
只需前行,每一步都是你的人生路
每一步都算数
不负时光,不负人生

Life doesn’t pity the weak. They will be subdued by the strong.
Be the first you, don’t be the second version of someone else.
Treat people traveling on the same journey with you kindly.
A bright face cannot outshine a grey heart.
When I read the title I thought it will be inspirational and similar to a popular quote one of my real estate trainers shared, “Don’t be afraid to start over. You are not starting from scratch, you are starting from experience.” — unknown
Rather, it touched more on the journey of life and taking the necessary steps and maybe leaving a footprint in others life as a result of your positive change in thoughts and actions. A moderate read and suitable for those who want to maintain their Chinese reading capability.
