My mentee asked for tips to prepare for interviews. I’ve touched on this topic before hence I shall not repeat. Read Wish Upon A Star.

She told me at our next meeting that STAR came out in her e-learning.

Of course lah! I’m sharing my relevant experiences. Not plucking things from the air… 😂

Besides interviewing techniques, I also told her it is basic courtesy to arrive at least 15 minutes early and look direct in the interviewer/s eyes and shake the interviewer’s hand.

When the interview is ending, always always always ask questions. No question is a stupid question. Read up on the company, and ask something. Make an impression!

During this session, my mentee mentioned she thinks business data analytics is interesting and keen to know more and she is undecided between choosing HR as a major or this.

I asked her to gatecrash the relevant lectures. If she wants to be polite, just inform the lecturer beforehand. I am sure they are more than willing to have interested people in their lectures.
