I thought of reading something related to Singapore since August is the month of celebrating our nation’s independence.
A comic revolving around MR Kiasu being tasked to take records of the old world by someone who time travelled.

Mr Kiasu is Singapore’s most iconic comic character in the 1990s.
Mr Kiasu travelled back in time and met:
1299: Sang Nila Utama, a Javanese prince that founded Singapore has hallucinations?
1405: Chen Zuyi, the pirate of Palembang is handsome and smelled like ikan bilis…. 😂
1511: Afonso de Albuquerque, a Portuguese general think Singapore is merely a shell of its former glory.
1823: Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, considered to be the founder of Singapore and British Malaya. Fired William Farquhar for insubordination. Farquhar was popular with everyone.
1854: Tan Kim Seng, a Chinese businessman and trader who played an important role as mediator for the Great Riots of 1854 (Hokkien-Teochew Riots). The riot caused 500 deaths and destroyed 300 homes. Make love not war…
1915: The consequences of Sepoy Mutiny which the British Army took 10 days to suppress resulted in all Indian residents to be be registered causing ill feelings among the majority loyal community.
I’ve never heard of this mutiny in Singapore but this is a good learning point.
