Traveling with Pre-Schooler 02: Macau – Transit, Hotels and Sights

Previously, I shared that instead of direct flights to Seoul, we decided to save on flight tickets and transit in Macau. I feel that whoever who only wants a short getaway can absolutely visit Macau.

Instead of two flights, we took four. I felt that this is quite a value of money especially when it made the little one happy.

We stayed in two different hotels for both transits.

Exterior of Sofitel and view of from our room.

Nice view, toiletries and a bathtub in this.

Macau is small and our transit time is limited. I deliberately chose Sofitel which is further from the airport (6km) since it is close to more historical sights.

They even have adjoining rooms which is rare for hotels nowadays so you can consider them if you are visiting with extended family or friends.

Unfortunately our flight to Macau was delayed so we did not have time for more attractions before kiddo’s bedtime. Nonetheless, the walk to Ruins of St Paul was still enjoyable.

En route to Ruins of St Paul
Ruins of St Paul is less than 15 mins walk away.

The Parisian Macau

I did not have the chance to attend my friend’s wedding in Paris during Covid lockdown, so I deliberately booked a room with view of the replica of Effiel Tower.

The Venician and The Londoner is within walking distance too. It felt like three countries within the same vicinity. I will definitely allocate more time to walk around next time.

I did exactly what I did in Paris. Buy tickets via Klook and made the son and husband take the lift up to the top of the tower with me. This replica is only 37 storeys so it was nice enough.

Taking travel fatigue into consideration, I am glad I made the decision to stay here as it is only 2km away from the airport. They offer free airport shuttle too so check out the bus schedule.

I am really proud of myself because I saved a lot from flight tickets so I was ready to splurge on hotels. It was nice sleep on a comfortable bed. I purchase my stay in Sofitel via Expedia and The Parisian Macao via Hooper but realised they were cheaper on Klook closer to travel date.

Both hotels has King sized bed so no issues on comfort and space for a small family.

These are from my personal experience. Hope you get a good experience like me too!
